I was asked by some great supporters three or four years ago if I have ever thought of making a cat sculpture. I had to admit that I had not. I had however, always had a quiet admiration for their assured and independent nature (we'd had one or two rather elusive cats who'd used our home as a food stop!). I set about making one in clay. I wanted my cat to 'own' its space, as I had noted so many real ones doing.
Happily I think I captured something of that character as this had proved to be a popular form with both the first edition - in mild steel and copper plate; and the second - in just copper, both selling out quickly. I have now made one or two changes to the form, and increased its size a little for the current copper plated limited edition.
