‘One’ is another sculpture that started around the time of my father’s death in 2014. The first iteration of this idea was hacked out of wood, and I then made a clay version. Like with ‘Two’, I sold that version having 3D scanned it so that I could recreate it in various sizes and materials including Corten Steel, Corten Steel with Nickel Plate, Corten Steel with Copper Plate, and, more recently copper. This sculpture has a serenity about it which seems to connect on a very human level. This work has opened the way into some very heartfelt conversations, and I really love it for that.
